What is BYOD?
Digital technology and its use permeates all areas of the school curriculum. The Bring Your Own Device Program requires students in Years 7 , 8 and 9 to bring a personally owned computing device to school every day for the purpose of learning.

Software
DEC school students have access to free software packages from both Microsoft and Adobe.
The Microsoft package consists of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows 10. The Adobe packaged contains the Adobe CC package.
As part of the DEC's Enterprise agreement with Adobe, students can download and install the Adobe Creative Cloud for free on one personally owned device.
Adobe CC is a set of software applications that empower students to work with digital media such as photos, movies and websites. These are professional tools used widely in industry.
As part of CC, the following software will be available to download:
- Photoshop
- Illustrator
- InDesign
- Dreamweaver
- Aftereffects
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Photoshop Elements
- Premier Elements

All DEC students are provided an email address and a student portal. The account is available 24 hours after enrolment. Please see Mr Host for the password for this accounts. Your account name is made up of your first name, dot, last name, then a number. You will need this account for all access to the internet and email.
This email address will be used for all official correspondence. This is also the account that Board of Studies information will be sent to.
